Commissions
During the lockdowns of 2020, we turned our attentions inward while longing at times to be elsewhere. We spent more time with those we love; and missed those we were unable to see.
Many of us turned to art for solace and permanence during chaotic times. A flurry of commissions came my way, each one a poignant pleasure. For all the loss and hurt the pandemic caused, it allowed us to appreciate what we value most: our families, our homes, and our fleeting piece of the world.
In an age of quick snaps and AI generated images, painting teaches patience, urging us to look, not to swipe. If technology captures moments, art cares for them. I want to recreate what our lenses can see and express what they cannot.
